• HARARE – FC Platinum and Harare City will be Zimbabwe’s representatives at the African Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively after they were handpicked by the Premier Soccer League.

Africa’s continental club tournaments are undergoing a major re-organisation to align them with the European schedule.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) says teams must be registered by October 15 for next year’s tournaments, which start this December – but that would be some two months before the champions of Zimbabwe are decided.

From next year, CAF said the tournaments will run from September through to May.

“The PSL board of governors sat on July 14 and agreed that, for this year, we are sending FC Platinum and Harare City as the country’s representatives,” said league spokesperson Kudzai Bare.

THE PSL forwarded the names of last year’s champions Platinum and Chibuku Cup winners Harare City.
