HARARE – The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) says its Members of Parliament and Senators will attend Tuesday’s joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament as President Emmerson Mnangagwa outlines his legislative agenda.

The MDC has refused to recognise Mnangagwa, winner of a disputed election on July 30, as President.

But party spokesman Jacob Mafume told ZimLive that they would not be boycotting his address.

“We want to give him a welcome that an illegitimate and unrecognised person deserves,” Mafume said, raising possibility that MDC MPs and Senators could heckle Mnangagwa like they did Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson Priscilla Chigumba and Chief Justice Luke Malaba on September 11.
