Dynamos 2-1 CAPS United

HARARE – Dynamos eased their relegation worries on Sunday after recovering from a goal down to beat CAPS United in the Harare derby.

Kingston Nkhatha and Valentine Kadonzvo’s second half strikes to overturn Joel Ngodzo’s opener on the stroke of halftime.

The win lifted Dynamos two points clear of relegation, while sucking Yadah into the drop zone.

In a season of woe for the giant club in which they have parted ways with coach Lloyd Mutasa, Dynamos must have had a sinking feeling when Ngodzo turned in a rebound from close range after Brian Muzondiwa’s header had come off the upright.

But half-time substitutions by Lloyd Chigowe with Kadonzvo replacing James Marufu and Nkatha stepping in the place of Emmanuel Mandiranga gave Dynamos a new offensive dynamic.

Four minutes after the restart, Dynamos were level after Quality Kangadzi, with a huge hint of offside, crossed for Nkatha to equalise with a diving header.

Dynamos won it 15 minutes from the end as Kadonzvo rifled home from a cut-back by fellow substitute Blessing Moyo.

Meanwhile, Highlanders drew 1-1 with Shabanie at Maglas on Sunday.

Gabriel Nyoni gave Highlanders the lead in the first half before Fradreck Muza levelled matters in the second half.

Black Rhinos drew 1-1 with Harare City on Saturday.
