Dynamos 2-1 Black Rhinos

HARARE – Dynamos moved five points clear of relegation on Sunday after a controversial injury time winner from skipper Marshall Machazane.

Machazane appeared to direct the ball into the net with both hands as met a cross from a corner kick right at the death.

The match officials had to be escorted by police officers off the field to save them from furious Black Rhinos players furious that the referee had not seen the blatant handball.

Dynamos had started brightly and were ahead after 25 minutes when Valentine Kadonzvo shot through Ashley Reyners’ legs when set up by Kuda Kumwala.

Rhinos dug in and they thought they had won at least a point when Tapiwa Sibanda fired in from a freekick 10 minutes from the end.

But Dynamos would snatch a highly contentious winner in time added on as Machazane took matters into his own hands.

Dynamos will not care how the win was secured, and their fans celebrated long into the night.

Meanwhile, Shabanie Mine became the first time to be relegated when they lost 1-0 to visiting Harare City at Maglas Stadium.

Shabanie are stuck on 19 points with four matches left and can mathematically get a maximum 31 points – not enough to get them out of the bottom four where they have been since the start of the season.
