HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday named new permanent secretaries for the ministries of Health and Public Service, while bringing former Mashonaland Central Minister of State Martin Dinha from the cold to become new chairman of the National Railways of Zimbabwe.

Agnes Mahomva is the new secretary for Health and replaces retired Major General Gerald Gwinji.

Simon Masanga takes over as the new secretary for the ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare in place of Judith Kateera.

“The appointments of Dr Mahomva and Mr Masanga as permanent secretaries are with effect from May 1, 2019,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Misheck Sibanda announced.

Mahomva is described as a former director of clinical services at various hospitals in Zimbabwe.

She has over 22 years’ experience in medical practice and managing and supporting public health programmes at local, regional and international levels.
