HARARE – Business Times editor Happiness Zengeni quit on Wednesday after a year at the helm.

Zengeni was the founding editor of the newspaper launched in June last year after crossing over from the Zimpapers-owned Business Weekly.

The Business Times is owned by journalist and former cabinet minister Supa Mandiwanzira through his company, AB Communications, which also owns ZiFM.

AB Communications CEO Susan Makore said she was travelling in Europe and referred questions to editor in chief, Kelvin Jakachira, who was not reachable.

Zengeni, a former business editor for The Herald, confirmed her exit in an interview with ZimLive.

“It’s true I resigned. I feel it’s time to focus on my business FinX, which I’m very keen to see in print, perhaps before the end of the year,” Zengeni said.

FinX is a subscription-based financial news service.

Bernard Mpofu is acting editor of the Business Times as the newspaper begins its search for a new editor.
