HARARE – The Zimbabwe Football Association has announced new match fees for Premier Soccer League match officials with effect from September 1.

Referees will now be taking home a match fee of Z$700 up from Z$270, the same as the match commissioners.

Assistant referees will pocket Z$600, up from Z$240, the same as the fourth official.

The review follows a sharp decline of the local currency, which has lost 82 percent of its value since February when the central bank allowed formal trading in the currency by lifting a discredited 1:1 pegging with the United States dollar.
