BULAWAYO – Tino Kadewere scored four goals in the opening 32 minutes in his first match as a Lyon player on Wednesday evening.

Lyon beat Swiss lower tier club Port Valais 12-0 in a friendly match after the Ligue 1 season was called off following the coronavirus outbreak.

The Zimbabwe international joined the French club in January on a four-year deal from Ligue 2 Le Havre for whom he scored 20 goals in 24 appearances.

Memphis Depay – who also netted four times – opened the scoring from the spot before the Kadewere show began.

The 24-year-old had his fourth just after the half-hour mark. The match was of very little consequence, but it would have done his confidence a lot of good.

“I’m very happy with my first match. It’s great to start like this. We must continue – Lyon is a very big club.” Kadewere told journalists.
