HARARE – Veteran journalist Grace Mutandwa has died aged 57.

The former Sunday Mail, ZIANA and Financial Gazette journalist died at her Harare home on Wednesday following a year-long battle with cancer, her brother Andrew said.

Born in Bulawayo on July 26, 1963, Mutandwa worked 30 years in the media, writing mainly on the arts.

She left the media industry to work as Public Affairs Officer at the British Embassy.

She was diagnosed with cancer in June last year, Andrew said.

Grace, a popular figure with colleagues, published two books ‘The Power And The Glory’ and ‘Oh Daniel!’

Friend Trevor Davis said: “She was a fearless journalist and lived her life with great courage.”

She is survived by three children Tawanda, Tanaka and Tendai.
