BULAWAYO – Two armed robbery suspects ushered Tuesday into a gold buyer’s home on the pretext they had come to sell the precious mineral to him, produced guns and robbed the dealer of US$35,000 cash.

Police in Bulawayo confirmed the incident and further called on anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.

The gold buyer, who is a registered dealer, was allegedly deceived by two suspects who had indicated they wanted to sell 50 grams of the mineral.

However, upon entering his home, the suspects who were armed with unidentified firearms, robbed the gold buyer of his cash and further lifted his home’s main gate remote and a CCTV HDI server making it harder to identify them.
