HARARE – Love-rat Vice President Kembo Mohadi on Wednesday “categorically” denied his own voice as he sought to blame his leaked phone recordings on “concocted enemy attacks.”

During a bizarre press conference which came after days of ZimLive revelations about him arranging trysts with married women, including in his office, Mohadi claimed his phone had been hacked – and then said his voice had been cloned.

The bed-hopping 71-year-old vowed he would not resign over the damaging sex scandal while placing his political fate in the hands of President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying, “If anything is going to happen, it is going to be the president who is going to determine my future.”

“Following the recent social media hype about my alleged illicit relationship with two married women, I have decided to come open and respond to the allegations being peddled by my detractors,” Mohadi said.

He blamed the embarrassing leaks on “weird character assassination,” adding, “I wish to categorically state that the allegations being leveled against me are not only false, but well-choreographed to demean, condescend, and soil my image as a national leader and patriot.”

Mohadi’s secret recordings showed he was sleeping with a married subordinate Abiggal Muleya and arranged sex romps in his office with another wedded mistress Chevaughn Choeni.

He also tried to lure a young beneficiary of his scholarship to a Bulawayo hotel for sex.

The vice president also promised a legal fight – supposedly against ZimLive – saying his privacy had been “trashed” in terms of Section 57 (d) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No.20) Act 2013.

“Every person has the right to privacy, which includes the right not to have the privacy of their communications infringed,” said Mohadi reciting the constitutional provision.

He thanked his supporters whom he said had “fully grasped the rigid complexities of concocted enemy attacks” and “categorically” distanced himself “from the imagined immoral unions.”

Love rapture … A young couple Martin Chabuka and Chervaughn Choeni, whose marriage was wrecked by Kembo Mohadi.

“I wish to clearly state that I am innocent a victim of political machinations being peddled through machinations and voice cloning. I remain a committed leader, father, and cadre of this nation. All this is concocted to tarnish my image,” the vice president said.

“Despite the noise in digital media ecologies, I wish to clearly state that I am innocent and a victim of political machinations being peddled through hacking and voice cloning.”

ZimLive editor Mduduzi Mathuthu said they stood by their reporting, adding the leading news website was ready for any lawsuit from the vice president.

“Mr. Mohadi says it’s all lies, and then says his private communications were breached. This is the worst attempted denial of wrongdoing since ‘I didn’t inhale it’ by Bill Clinton,” Mathuthu said.

“Naturally, we have activated our lawyers in preparedness and we relish the opportunity to meet Mr. Mohadi in court.”
