BULAWAYO – A 29-year-old serial thief who targeted cell phones and pieces of clothing in Bulawayo’s Milton Park High School hostels has pleaded guilty to 17 counts of theft.

Leechice Sibanda admitted committing the offences before city magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody pending sentence.

Court heard that on March 9, 2023, Sibanda entered Milton High School hostels without permission and stole a two cell phones, pairs of shoes and shorts.

On the 10th of March, he also stole a tracksuit and two pairs of shoes.

Court further heard that on March 17, the thief went back again and stole two cell phones, a charger and a calculator.

On March 18, Sibanda entered the hostels again without permission and took four pairs of shoes, a school bag, jersey, two cell phones, tracksuit, shorts, shirts and an iron.

All the stolen property was recovered except for one cell phone.
