HARARE – Football giants Dynamos and Caps United both posted identical 2-0 victories over their opponents while the title chasing pair of FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum also lost their fixtures by identical 1-0 margins in separate Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 15 matches played on Saturday.

In the headline fixture played at Barbourfields between Chicken Inn and Dynamos, Elton Chikona opened the scoring for the Harare side after 69 minutes while Eli Ilunga sealed the Gamecocks’ fate with a second goal on the stroke of full time to stretch Dembare’s resurgent run.

Dynamos have collected a sublime 10 points out of a possible 12 in their last four premiership fixtures.

In a match played at Bata stadium, Caps United battered Green Fuel to emerge 2-0 victors of the day in a result that brings relief to the former champions following some frustrating defeats past few weeks.

William Manondo and Rodwell Chinyengetere got the goals for the Green Machine after 28 and 58 minutes respectively.

Caps had to finish the game with a man short after defender Godknows Murwira was shown a red card on the hour mark for a second bookable offence.

In other fixtures, reigning champions FC Platinum lost at home to visiting Yadah in a shock result at Mandava.

Russell Chifura got the all-important goal for Yadah after 22 minutes into the encounter.

Ngezi Platinum also missed on a chance to reclaim top spot on the premiership table following a 1-0 defeat at Baobab by Simba Bhora.

Alex Mandinyenya’s strike after 31 minutes sealed the fate for the hosts.

The defeat on the two platinum mining outfits could be advantage to log leaders Highlanders who have a chance to open a four-point buffer with second placed Ngezi should they beat Herentals at Mandava this Sunday.

In other matches, Manica Diamonds continued with their fine start to their 2023 premiership campaign after posting a 1-0 defeat of Cranborne Bullets in a match played at Gibbo stadium.

The match between ZPC Kariba and Sheasham ended goalless at Nyamhunga, Kariba.

Following Saturday’s round of premiership fixtures, unbeaten Highlanders still top the log standings on 28 points from 14 matches played.

Ngezi Platinum are second on 27 from 15 games played while Manica Diamonds displaced FC Platinum to go third with 26 points from the same number of games.
