HARARE – Football giants Dynamos’ bid to claw back into the 2023 league championship conversation faces a potential hurdle in reigning champions FC Platinum, their next opponents in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League’s Week 14 headline fixture at Barbourfields this Saturday.

Dembare, who recently emerged from sapping defeats past few weeks, renewed their title hopes with two crucial victories in their latest assignments.

They occupy position five on the log table with 21 points to their credit and are fairly within shouting distance of log leaders Ngezi Platinum who have amassed 26 points from the same number of games played.

But the Harare side’s new-found impetus comes under test when they face FC Platinum who have recovered their teeth with four straight victories on the trot.

Meanwhile, in other Match Day 14 clashes lined up for this weekend, Bulawayo Chiefs and Caps United face off at Luveve in another classic case of two wounded buffalos.

Chiefs are keen to emerge from a two-match losing streak while Caps United will also want to make amends following a 1-2 defeat to Highlanders at their adopted home at Barbourfields on Sunday.

The two green shirted outfits have had good results in their recent fixtures but seem to be wilting in the winter cold.

In other matches set to be played Saturday, Yadah host bottom side Black Rhinos at Baobab while the clash between Cranborne Bullets and Herentals College at Nyamhunga completes Saturday’s round of Week 14 fixtures.

On Sunday, unbeaten Highlanders renew their bid to reclaim top spot with a clash against Triangle United at Barbourfields.

The Bulawayo giants have their tails up after coming from a goal down last week to post a victory against Caps.

Green Fuel face Chicken Inn at Gibbo while Hwange face off with ZPC Kariba at the Colliery.

At Bata Stadium, log leaders Ngezi Platinum have a potential banana skin to their title charge in host Sheasham.

Simba Bhora also date Manica Diamonds at Baobab to complete the weekend menu of premiership fixtures.
