HARARE – Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will be the guest of honour at this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo, the government announced on Tuesday.

The annual trade expo will be held between April 26 and 30.

Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa, speaking to reporters following a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, said Kenyatta will attend the opening ceremony on Friday, April 29.

Kenyatta’s trip to Zimbabwe comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited Kenya earlier this month for a state visit.

The trade exhibition, now in its 62nd year, will be held under the theme: ‘Rethink, Reimagine and Reinvent Value Chains for Economic Development.’

Industry minister Sekesai Nzenza said by March 28, 386 direct exhibitors had booked 43,444 of the 48,718 square meters of exhibition space – about 89 percent.
