REDCLIFF – Redcliff mayor and opposition CCC politician Clayton Masiyatsva collapsed at his home and died upon admission in hospital on Wednesday
Masiyatsva, who had been mayor of the dormitory town for three consecutive terms, was rushed to Topomas clinic where he died upon admission.
Acting Town Clerk, Nyararai Gomba confirmed the Ward 3 councillor’s sudden passing saying he had been suffering from an undisclosed ailment for a while.
CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi expressed his disappointment over the mayor’s passing.
“Saddened to announce the passing on of Redcliff Mayor and long serving champion of the party Cllr Clayton Masiyatsva. May your soul rest in peace Cde,” he posted on X.
