HARARE – ZIFA northern region chairman Willard Manyengavana died on Monday after falling down the stairs at the gym.

In a tribute, ZIFA said the veteran sports administrator and former PSL vice chairman had left lasting legacy in the game.

“His legacy immortalises the mortal who has left us,” ZIFA said.

The Premier Soccer League said it was “with deep sadness that we learnt of the sudden passing” of Manyengavana

He fell down the stairs while at the Profitness Colcom gym and was confirmed dead on arrival at the Avenues Clinic, the ZIFA northern region said on Twitter.

Journalist Chichi Sabeta said: “I’m completely shocked. He was always upbeat and engaging, always ready to listen.”
