BULAWAYO – The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has been postponed for a third time, with organisers citing the extension of the Covid-19 alert level 4 lockdown by the government.

In a statement on Tuesday, the ZITF company said: “Following the extension of the national Level 4 lockdown announced by President Mnangagwa last week, the ZITF Company board and management wishes to officially advise all stakeholders that the ZITF 2021 edition has been postponed to September 21-24.”

Zimbabwe’s premier business exhibition is traditionally held in March or April each year, but the outbreak of Covid-19 in February last year forced the event to be cancelled.

This year’s edition was pushed back from its usual slot July 20-23, and then to August 24-27 before the latest postponement.

“With unity of purpose, we’ll find ways to navigate business and industry realities, whilst exploring opportunities brought by the pandemic,” the ZITF said.

The ZITF this year will be held under the theme “Showcasing the New Normal for Business and Industry: Realities and Opportunities.”
