GWERU – A bus overturned in Gweru early Wednesday killing five people and leaving 21 others injured.
The Hungwe bus was travelling from Botswana to Harare when it overturned at a roundabout near the Fairmile Hotel.
National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “The driver failed to negotiate his passage through the roundabout and lost control.”
Police said no other vehicle was involved in the crash.
Among the dead is a four-year-old child, Nyathi said.
Ten of the injured passengers were admitted at Gweru Provincial Hospital.
