HARARE – Zimbabwe’s domestic top flight football league is returning in nearly two years after Covid-19 disruptions.

The Premier Soccer League announced Friday that the league – which normally runs from March to December – will return on November 6 and run well into 2022.

The league will break for the Christmas holidays in December, also the time of heavy rains in Zimbabwe, and resume after the Africa Cup of Nations in February, the PSL said.

In a fixture list released on Friday, 2019 champions FC Platinum will begin their defence of the title with a home fixture against Tenax CS.

CAPS United, who pushed the Zvishavane champions all the way, will begin their campaign away with ZPC Kariba.

Highlanders start their campaign away to Black Rhinos while Dynamos host Yadah in a Harare derby.

The government recently allowed sports to resume, although crowds will be limited to 2,000 fully vaccinated spectators.
