JOHANNESBURG – Zimbabwe international midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi has signed for Orlando Pirates from Golden Arrows, club chairman Irvin Khoza has confirmed,
Attacking midfielder Mahachi arrives at the same time as defender-come-midfielder Paseka Mako, who joins he ABSA Premier League giants from Chippa United.
Mahachi spent the last three seasons at Arrows on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
On the other hand, Mako is part of a deal which saw Gift Motupa join Chippa from Pirates following a successful loan spell with Baroka FC.
The Bucs boss also revealed that they have held talks with Andile Jali’s representatives in an attempt to re-sign him.
Jali, who has also been linked with Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, is currently a free agent having parted ways with Belgian First Division A club KV Oostende last month.
Khoza stated that they are waiting for Jali to decide which club he will be joining ahead of the 2018/19 season.
“He was here and we had a good discussion. Now the ball is in his court. He said he would come back to us and we are waiting to hear from him,” said Khoza to City Press.
Jali had a successful stint with the Buccaneers between 2009 and 2014, before he was sold to Oostende midway through the 2013/14 campaign.
Khoza, who is one of the respected football administrator in the country, also stated that they would welcome outgoing Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brillian Khuzwayo at the Houghton-based side.
The highly-rated shot-stopper will leave Amakhosi as a free agent in July 2018 having decided against extending his contract with the Soweto giants.
“His agent has not spoken to us, but we will welcome him if he wants to come. I can’t say much at this moment because we have not spoken to his agent,” he continued.
