HARARE – Dynamos have been expelled from the 2026 CAF Confederation Cup over outstanding salary payments owed to former coach Saul Chaminuka.
The Chibuku Super Cup winners will not be included in Thursday’s draw after CAF released the list of 56 participating teams, confirming their exclusion.
The sanction also costs Dynamos a minimum $100,000 in preliminary round participation fees.
Club officials had hoped to avert the ban after making a last-minute partial payment of the nearly $13,000 owed to Chaminuka. However, FIFA insisted on full settlement of the debt before the deadline.
The development is a major embarrassment for both Dynamos and Zimbabwean football, underlining persistent administrative and financial challenges within local clubs.
In contrast, Scottland FC face no such issues and will be included in the draw for the CAF Champions League, conducted alongside the Confederation Cup draw.
