HARARE – Caps United continued their fine start to the 2023 Castle Premier Soccer League campaign with a 2-0 victory over neighbours Black Rhinos while champions FC Platinum also bounced back to winning ways after beating visiting Bulawayo Chiefs 2-1.
At Mandava stadium, Castle Challenge Cup winners FC Platinum and Bulawayo Chiefs staged a repeat of their March encounter with the Zvishavane side picking maximum points over the visitors.
The Bulawayo derby between Chicken Inn and Highlanders at Barbourfields ended in a goalless draw in a disappointing result for both teams which were looking forward to victories.
The match between hosts Ngezi Platinum and Herentals produced an avalanche of goals ending in a 3-3 stalemate at Baobab stadium.
Green Fuel did not have enough gas to withstand a challenge by fellow Manicaland side, Manicaland Diamonds who beat the ethanol producers 2-1.
In another Match Day 4 game played Thursday, Simba Bhora beat hosts Yadah 1-0 to register the newcomers’ first triumph among the big boys of the domestic game.
Match Day 4 continues into the Easter holiday with a Saturday clash between Hwange FC and Sheasham at Luveve.
ZPC Kariba take on Triangle FC at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday while Dynamos and Cranborne Bullets lock horns a day later at the same venue.
