HARARE – Dynamos overpowered city rivals Caps United to win 2-0 in a thrilling Castle Lager Premier Soccer League derby played at the National Sports Stadium Sunday.

Dembare found their goals through Donald Mudadi on the half hour after cagey start which saw few meaningful chances created.

Jayden Bakari doubled the lead seven minutes later, with Mudadi assisting this time.

It was a relief to coach Herbert Marova who was keen to get back to winning ways following two recent successive losses in the Independence Cup and the premiership.

The Harare derby also saw Caps suffer their first premiership defeat after enjoying a positive start to the 2023 campaign.

The result left Dynamos position number 4 and sitting on 11 points, while CAPS United surrendered the top spot and dropped to 3rd on 12 points.

Meanwhile, in another Match Day 7 clash played at Barbourfields same afternoon, unbeaten Highlanders edged Hwange 1-0 to claim top spot on the premiership log standings.

Washington Navaya got the priceless goal for the Bulawayo side with just three minutes left on the clock.

Bosso are now on 14 points from six matches played so far.

In other matches played Sunday, Chicken Inn played a 1-1 draw against Triangle United, while Sheasham registered their first triumph of the season after edging Cranborne Bullets 2-1.
