HARARE – Reigning Zimbabwe premiership champions FC Platinum suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to Herentals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash played at the National Sports Stadium on Monday.

Herentals got the all-important goal through Tinotenda Benza after 63 minutes.

It was the Zvishavane miners’ second defeat of the season having fallen 1-2 to Highlanders beginning of April.

The Monday clash was the final of the weekend’s Match Day 7 round of matches which saw, among the highlights, Dynamos overcome rivals Caps United 2-0 with fellow giants Highlanders also shooting to the top of the 2023 log standings after beating Hwange 1-0.

In other matches played Sunday, Chicken Inn played a 1-1 draw against Triangle United, while Sheasham registered their first triumph of the season after edging Cranborne Bullets 2-1.

On Saturday, Ngezi Platinum pummeled ZPC Kariba 5-1 at Baobab while Manica Diamonds also trashed visiting Black Rhinos 4-0 at Gibbo.

In Bulawayo, visiting Yadah got a baptism of fire after being beaten 2-1 by Bulawayo Chiefs.
