HARARE – Highlanders succumbed to a humiliating 3-0 away defeat to Simba Bhora at Baobab Saturday to add to their disappointing loss of form in what started as a promising 2023 premiership campaign.

In the headline fixture of Match Day 26 played at Mandava, FC Platinum beat log leaders Ngezi Platinum 1-0 to continue with their enterprising revival to their title defence and also claim second spot on the premiership standings.

At Bata, Black Rhinos moved a place up from the bottom of the premiership ladder with a 4-3 beating of ZPC Kariba while former champions Chicken Inn and Manica Diamonds battled to a 1-1 stalemate at Luveve.

Following Saturday’s round of Week 26 fixtures, Ngezi Platinum still top the league standings on 51 points although their lead has been cropped to five by second placed FC Platinum who are now on 46.

Former leaders Highlanders are now third on 45 points while Manica Diamonds are fourth on 43.

Dynamos, who have a game in hand, are fifth and sixth with Chicken Inn, both on 40 points.

Match Day 26 continues this Sunday with Dynamos entertaining fellow Harare side Herentals at the National Sports Stadium.

Hwange host Caps United at the Colliery while Yadah and Triangle FC lock horns at Baobab.

Green Fuel are at home to Cranborne Bullets at Green Fuel stadium while the clash between Sheasham and Bulawayo Chiefs puts the lid to the weekend premiership action.
