MUZARABANI – MDC T spokesperson Witness Dube has dumped the Douglas Mwonzora led opposition for Zanu PF, claiming his former party has lost direction.

Dube attended President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s star rally at Centenary Sports Club in Muzarabani district, Mashonaland Central on Saturday.

He was called to the podium and flaunted as Zanu PF’s latest big catch from the opposition.

Speaking to ZimLive later in the day, Dube said he took the decision to dump MDC-T after its organs had collapsed with the party also taking a direction into the wilderness.

“The opposition has deviated from the founding vision of its founding fathers to being about creating jobs for the boys who will draw political funding for their leadership,” he said.

Dube said the “MDC leadership has collapsed all organs of the party and abandoned the organic relations which the founding fathers had with the people”.

He said he could not go to CCC either, describing the Nelson Chamisa led opposition as “blatantly a philistine building which Samson destroyed by shaking two pillars”.

“Without Chamisa and a few others, there will be no CCC to talk about,” Dube said.

He added, “More disturbing is the disturbing arrogance of both Nelson Chamisa and Douglas Mwonzora who, in hindsight, tore the MDC the day they decided to run for SG back in 2014.”

Dube felt Zanu PF was the only political party with “genuine passion and love of the people of Zimbabwe”.

“Zanu PF is the only party with a genuine passion and love for the people of Zimbabwe,” he said.

“The agenda is clear and systematically pursued. The opposition only uses the people to create jobs for each other and to access taxpayers’ money through political funding.

“They have not added any value to the leadership matrix and development in our country.

“Zanu PF is the only party with a genuine passion at reforming itself, no wonder the opposition is now having to resort to severe propaganda to find relevance.”

Dube said Zanu PF has “developed to be the best of themselves, a clear sign that they took notes from their engagements with the opposition”.

“Meanwhile, the opposition formations have been degenerating without any hope for ever self-healing as they have no institutional capacity to do so.

“CCC had double candidates at by-elections, and they are still in denial that they are that disorganised as they repeated the same albeit at a bigger scale in these general elections.

“MDC misused the grant and failed to pay for its 87 candidates of mostly staff members who stepped in to save the party from the embarrassment of not having candidates,” he said.
