HARARE – Zimbabwe premiership log leaders Ngezi Platinum pummeled ZPC Kariba to a 3-0 score line to affirm the miners’ bid for their first premiership title in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 24 clash played at Nyamhunga on Saturday.

The Mhondoro-Ngezi outfit re-opened a four-point lead at the summit of the premiership table with a double strike by Takunda Benhura in the first half while Delic Murimba added the third moments after the resumption of the second half.

In other Match Day 24 fixtures, champions FC Platinum were 2-0 victors over Herentals at Mandava stadium while Chicken Inn and Triangle shared the spoils after playing to a 1-1 stalemate at Luveve.

Bulawayo Chiefs continued with their resurgent form, dispatching home side Yadah 2-1 at Baobab.

In Chisumbanje, home side Green Fuel suffered a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Simba Bhora.

Sheasham also beat struggling Cranborne Bullets 1-0 at Bata to put a lid on Saturday’s round of premiership fixtures.

Following the matches on Saturday, Ngezi Platinum lead the standings on 48 points while Highlanders remain second on 44 with a game in hand.

Manica Diamonds, who also play this Sunday, remain third on 42 while FC Platinum moved to fourth on 40 points.
