HARARE – Two former Premier Soccer League stars have been arrested for drug trafficking.

Abbas Amidu, 29, formerly of CAPS United, and Reuben Mhlanga, 41, a former Dynamos defender, were found in possession of approximately 750 kilograms of cannabis, which has an estimated street value of US$75,000.

Police said the arrests occurred on October 3 along the Kwekwe-Kadoma highway.

National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “The two were found in possession of 750kg of dagga valued at US$75,000 in a silver Honda Shuttle vehicle, registration number AGP 6776, along Kwekwe – Kadoma highway on October 3.”
