HARARE – One person was killed early Saturday when a train collided with a vehicle at a level crossing in Marondera, the National Railways of Zimbabwe said.
The crash disrupted traffic along the busy Harare-Mutare road after the train came to a stop across the highway.
NRZ spokesman Andrew Kunambura said the accident happened at about 4.20am.
“A Honda Fit with three occupants failed to stop for the train, resulting in the collision. Unfortunately, one person died in the incident,” Kunambura said.
