HARARE – Dynamos began life after sacked head coach Herbert Maruwa with a 1-0 victory over Simba Bhora to clinch a second round slot in a Chibuku Super Cup first round fixture played at Barbourfields stadium on Saturday.

The premiership giants, who have been blowing hot and cold in their current premiership campaign, got the all-important goal off the boot of Emmanuel Paga 66 minutes into the clash.

Dynamos is now under interim coached Genesis Mangombe after Maruwa was given the boot during the week for failing to meet tough winning targets set by his employers.

In another match, reigning soccer star of the year Walter Musona hit a hat trick with two of his goals from the penalty spot as former Chibuku Super Cup winners FC Platinum walloped Yadah 4-0.

FC Platinum got their other goal through Juan Mutudza a minute after resumption from the half time break.

It was sweet revenge for the miners who were humiliated 1-0 in front of their home fans by the Harare side mid-July this year.

Yadah were forced to play nearly 77 minutes of the match with 10 men after Marvellous Faranando was shown a red card 13 minutes into the encounter, played at Mandava stadium.

Ngezi Platinum also lived up to their billing when they upstaged Triangle FC 2-1 at Baobab.

Chicken Inn, another side that has been inconsistent in the current premiership campaign, did themselves a favour by beating Green Fuel 1-0 at Luveve.

In another clash played at Gibbo stadium, Black Rhinos beat Manica Diamonds 6-5 on penalties after the two sides had ended the match tied on 1 goal apiece.
