BULAWAYO – Barely weeks after shown the exit door by Highlanders Football Club, veteran midfielder Rahman Kutsanzira and speedy winger Ray Lunga have found a new home at Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region league side, Sheasham ahead of the 2024 season.

The duo was unveiled along with other new signings and returning players last Friday during a club player unveiling ceremony and fundraising dinner held at Bata Club.

In an exclusive interview, Kutanzira expressed gratitude with the warm welcome he received from club stakeholders and promised to repay the faith given to him on the pitch.

“It feels good to be here in Gweru and to play for Sheasham,” said Kutsanzira.

“The reception was very good and I’m happy to be here and think it’s actually a good move for me.

“I have played a lot in the PSL for almost 15 years. So, I think it’s good for a change as Sheasham is a good and organised team that was in PSL last year and they want to bounce back and I’m here to help the team and we are coming back next year in the elite league.

“With the experience that I have, I think my legs will do the talking.

“I still have the energy, if Ronaldo is still playing, I can also play. I am also here to help the youngsters and also to learn as I am reaching my retirement age. So, I am here to learn from the coaches and the executives.”

Kutsanzira thanked Highlanders for making him the player he is today and also said it was high time he faced new challenges.

“No hard feeling. Highlanders helped me a lot as a player. I am who I am because of Highlanders but it’s time for a new chapter now here as Sheasham.

Kutsanzira signed a one-year contract with the construction boys while Lunga’s contract was yet to be disclosed.
