HARARE – Highlanders beat Herentals 2-1 at Barbourfields on Sunday to end a long spell of premiership defeats and draws while also completing a season double over the students.

In a Castle Lager Match Day 32 clash, Herentals were first to score, 37 minutes into the match.

Bosso got their equaliser almost immediately through Gillian Nyathi’s long-range strike after 39 minutes while Calvin Chigonera made it two for the hosts moments before the half time break.

It was a season double over Herentals whom they beat 1-0 in July this year.

In the headline fixture of Match Day 32 round of premiership matches played at the National Sports Stadium, inconsistent giants Dynamos came from behind to beat Chicken Inn 2-1 to reclaim second spot on the premiership table.

Chicken Inn took the lead through Malvin Hwata after just two minutes into the clash, but Shadreck Nyahwa restored parity with a strike just at the stroke of half time.

Elton Chikona made it two for the hosts with five minutes left to play on the referee’s watch.

At Baobab, Yadah humiliated former champions FC Platinum by beating them 2-1 while the battle of the greens at Green Fuel stadium saw hosts Green Fuel play to a 2-2 draw with visiting Caps United.

At the Colliery, Hwange compounded Black Rhinos’ relegation woes by beating the army side 3-0 while Bulawayo Chiefs were 2-0 victors over relegation threatened Triangle at Luveve.

With all 18 teams now having fulfilled 32 fixtures in the premiership marathon – and two to go – Ngezi Platinum have confirmed their first spot with 63 points while Dynamos are second on 54.

Dembare have the same number of points with Manica Diamonds who are third.

Highlanders, who once promised to run away with the 2023 premiership title, are fourth on 53 points while outgoing champions FC Platinum are fifth on 51.
