HARARE – Zimbabwe announced Tuesday it would allow sporting events to resume and lift quarantine requirements for visitors from India in a relaxation of Covid-19 regulations.

Cinemas, theatres, art galleries, gymnasiums, health spas and fitness centres will be allowed to re-open, but only for people who are fully vaccinated, information minister Monica Mutsvangwa said.

All staff member of sports clubs will also be required to be fully vaccinated to take part in professional sport.

In a statement, the Sports and Recreation Commission clarified: “All activities should be held in a no-spectator environment.”

Sports venues would be required to register all participants and their vaccination status.
